Today’s scholarship is from the State Farm Companies Foundation. This scholarship program was addressed to deal with the rising drop-out rate in this country–apparently a student drops out of high school every 26 seconds! That is an awful statistic.
Who is this scholarship for?
The State Farm Companies Foundation Scholarship is for students who plan to attend either a college, university, technical, or vocational school and who cannot fund their higher education without aid. Specifically, this program is for students who may not qualify for other scholarships, but who demonstrate financial need.
Am I eligible?
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be be high school seniors who will graduate at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year. Students must plan to enroll as a full-time student in a college or university (four or two year), vocational school, or technical school in the 2013-2014 school year.
Additionally students must be United States citizens and must have a GPA of a 2.5 to a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Finally, to be eligible, students must demonstrate financial need.
How many scholarships will be awarded?
There will be up to 26 scholarships awarded and each grant will be worth $2,500. Another awesome thing about this scholarship is that students can renew it for an additional year.
