USA Rice welcomes entries for the 2015 National Rice Month scholarship program. In three easy steps, high school graduating students can enter for an opportunity to win up to $4,000 in scholarship support. You can plan ahead for this scholarship opportunity, which makes U.S.-grown rice the center of a promotion activity you conduct this September, which is National Rice Month. Some sample topics/themes are:
Nutritional benefits of U.S.-grown rice
Culinary versatility of U.S.-grown rice
Economic importance of U.S. rice production and processing
Conservation and environmental benefits of the U.S. rice industry
*Remember: Your promotion must be conducted in September of 2015.
Who is eligible to apply to the 2015 National Rice Month Scholarship Program?
High school graduating students (2015-16 school year) in rice-growing states (Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas) are eligible.
How much are the scholarships worth?
The USA Rice Federation’s 2015 National Rice Month Scholarship Program will award three awards. One national grand-prize winner will receive a scholarship award of $4,000. One second-place award of $3,000 and one third-place award of $1,500 will be presented.
When is the application deadline?
Submit your entry (video, essay, scrapbook, or other presentation tool) by Oct. 15, 2015.
