The My Education Video Contest is sponsored by the Center for Education Reform (CER), an education reform organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. that advocates for school choice. CER wants to know how well your school did—or didn’t do—in providing you with a great education during the last few months.
Who is eligible to enter a submission in the My Education Video Contest?
All students ages 13 and older are eligible to enter!
How do I enter the Contest?
It’s pretty simple: Create a video of three minutes or less responding to the following prompt:
How has your school delivered on the promise of equal access and educational excellence, particularly during these challenging times?
When you are happy with your video:
- Upload it to YouTube (with parental/caregiver permission, of course!)
- Tag your school and include the hashtag: #MyEducationVideo
- Fill out the registration form
- Share with your friends, family, and anyone else
While you are encouraged to promote your video on social media, please remember that the judges will only take into account views, upvotes, and comments on the YouTube video itself. The most important thing to remember is sharing your passion and telling your personal story. No fancy video equipment needed! Put your phone to good use and make a difference by sharing your authentic educational experiences!
What are the awards for this contest?
There are numerous awards, including ten $2,500 scholarships to the high school or college of your choice. The Grand Prize is a $20,000 scholarship to the high school or college of your choice!
When are video submissions due?
All submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. EDT on Friday, July 24. Winners will be announced during a live streamed online awards ceremony (date and time TBD).
Read the Official Rules of the Contest here.
Best of luck to all who enter!
