The Foot Locker Scholarship program awards $20,000 in college scholarships to 20 (yes, 20!) outstanding student athletes. These athletes demonstrate exceptional academic ability and strong leadership skills in sports, school, and within their communities. Foot Locker is looking for a diverse group of students who display sportsmanship, have excellent moral character, are leaders in their communities, and exude confidence in all they do. Who is eligible to apply to the Foot Locker Scholarship?
The scholarship is open to students who are:
- high school seniors enrolled in and planning on attending a four year college or university in the USA as a full time student
- currently members (in good standing) of a high school sports team or are involved in after-school sports (these types of after-school sports can include intramurals, martial arts, and other types of athletic clubs)
- U.S. citizens or US Permanent Legal Residents
- NOT Foot Locker employees or immediate family members of a Foot Locker employee
In addition, an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher from ninth grade to first semester of 12th grade is necessary.
When is the application due?
The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program application closes on December 17, 2021 at 11:50pm Eastern time for all candidates. Keep that in mind if you live in Central, Mountain, or Pacific Coast time zones.
How much is the scholarship worth?
Twenty Foot Locker Scholar Athletes will each receive $20,000 in college scholarship money for their excellence in school, on their sports teams, and in their communities.
Award winners receive four equal annual payments of $5,000 throughout their four-year college career.
