The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply

Scholarship Overview

Are you a Jewish middle or high school student who would like to demonstrate your passion for Judaism and philanthropy through writing? If so, consider applying for the Kaplun Essay Contest! Open to Jewish students who submit an essay about Jewish values and/or the benefits of philanthropy, the scholarship annually awards $1,800 to the first-place winners in both the Level 1 (Grades 7-9) and Level 2 (Grades 10-12) categories. The following five runners-up in each category are awarded $500 each.

About The Morris J. and Betty Kaplun Foundation

The Morris J. and Betty Kaplun Foundation was established in honor of the Kapluns who were refugees from Nazi persecution and dedicated their lives to a variety of philanthropic causes.
