Overview
From UATX
The University of Austin prepares thoughtful and ethical builders, leaders, and innovators through open inquiry and civil discourse.
UATX values both the wisdom of the past and the transformative power of new ideas. We foster an environment of intellectual freedom and cultivate a community based on the lively clash of ideas.
On colleges across America, genuine conversations have become difficult. At UATX, students can raise questions and challenge orthodoxy on a campus where diverse perspectives are united by the fearless pursuit of truth.
Our commitment to the pursuit of truth arises from our confidence that the nature of reality can be discerned, albeit incompletely, and from our belief that the quest to know, though unending, is an ennobling, liberating, and productive endeavor.
At UATX, we build with purpose. We know the builder is greater than the critic and that criticism, while important, should never take center stage. Our students learn to think so that they might build. They have the courage to dare and the agency to realize their vision.
University of Austin is an academic startup where students get to re-imagine education free from the shackles of prestige and bureaucracy. Students don’t just graduate with a piece of paper. They learn how to found anew for a world in need.

Admissions
Admissions Overview
From UATX
We teach students how–not what–to think so they are well-equipped to pursue truth wherever it may lead them.
The admissions process furthers and advances the University’s mission. The University of Austin strives to build and sustain a community of excellence based on the lively clash of ideas, which are advanced or rejected through rational argument and civil discourse. Students are expected to be constructive participants in the open exchange of ideas. Through this process, the University cultivates in students a passion for learning.
Given the rigorous nature of the undergraduate program, our admissions process is designed to admit students on the basis of demonstrated (i) academic capability and (ii) capacity for creativity and leadership. We seek students who demonstrate the character and temperament to contribute to and thrive in a challenging academic environment that prioritizes intellectual curiosity and humility, applied learning, agency, and entrepreneurship. We will consider an applicant’s interests, background, and experiences to help us understand whether the applicant satisfies the admissions criteria above.
The University is committed to providing a fair, transparent, and open admissions process. For more information, please review the University’s Admissions Policy available on our website.
