Marist educates approximately 5,000 traditional-age undergraduate students and 1,400 adult and graduate students in 90 undergraduate majors, minors, and concentrations and numerous graduate programs, including fully online MBA, MPA, MS, and MA degrees. Marist University Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid at Marist you’ll need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as the CSS Profile.
The FAFSA and CSS Profile use financial information from the prior, prior year. That means you can submit the forms even if you or your parents haven’t filed last year’s taxes.
The FAFSA code for Marist is 002765 and the CSS Profile Code is 2400.
The FAFSA is completely free, while the CSS Profile charges a fee for each college you send it to. If you have demonstrated financial need, you may qualify for a CSS Profile fee waiver.

Using State Grants at Marist
If you are a New York State resident considering Marist, be sure to investigate the TAP program. If you are attending a qualifying program and meet financial need requirements, you may receive thousands of dollars per year to put towards your education. Additionally, if you apply to a CUNY or SUNY school, you could be eligible for the Excelsior Scholarship, which would make your education tuition-free.

The federal government awards Pell Grants to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need by filling out the FAFSA. Students with a bachelor’s or professional degree are not eligible. From Marist
Students interested in applying to Marist should rank in the top half of their graduating class and hold a recalculated average of 88-93 or 3.1 – 3.7. The quality and difficulty level of each class is taken into account as well. Leadership qualities and high school activities are also important. Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:
- 4 years of English
- 3 years of Science
- 3 years of Math
- 3 years of History/Social Studies
- 2 years of a foreign language
Marist places the greatest emphasis on the high school transcript. SAT/ACT scores are not required. However, for applicants who choose to submit them, scores are usually between 1210-1360 SAT/ 26-31 ACT.
- International students whose native language is not English are required to submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (T.O.E.F.L.), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Duolingo scores. In addition, students applying for our HEOP program are required to submit their SAT or ACT results.

Is Marist test-optional?
Marist University is test-optional, which means that applicants are permitted, but not required, to submit their standardized test scores. If you choose not to submit your scores, admissions officers will weigh your grades, extracurriculars, essays, and interviews more heavily. What is the application deadline at Marist?
Students must apply by February 15 to enroll at Marist during the fall semester. Remember that college applications involve many pieces, including essays, a transcript, letters of recommendation, and more. Be sure to start your application as soon as you can to make sure you have enough time to make it as compelling as possible.
At Marist students also have the opportunity to apply Early Decision. In order to take advantage of this option, you’ll have to have your application in by November 15.
You can also choose to apply Early Decision II, with a later deadline of February 15.
And if you’re considering applying Early Action at Marist, remember that the deadline is November 15.
