#FreetoTweet Scholarship Program 2012
The freedom of speech is protected by the first amendment of the United States of America and is a major tenant in our country’s identity. Today’s scholarship is from both the First Amendment Center and the Knight Foundation and asks students to “celebrate their First Amendment rights with a tweet.”
There will be five scholarships awarded to students in 5 separate categories–speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be between the ages of 14 and 22–most high school and college students (maybe even some grad school students) should be able to apply.
How do you enter this scholarship?
Students simply need to have a Twitter account and tweet using the hashtag #FreetoTweet. Tweets should be submitted between December 1 and December 15, 2012.
If you have any questions, check out this blog post on the Knight Foundation scholarship.
